Frequently Asked Questions
Can't find your answer? Ask us directly — or calculate your order with the concrete calculator.
What strength concrete do I need for foundations?
House strip footings are typically poured at 15–20 MPa. The exact strength depends on soil conditions and your engineer's specification — send us your drawings and we will advise.
How do I calculate how much concrete I need?
Multiply length × width × thickness (all in metres) to get cubic metres. Use our concrete volume calculator and add about 10% for spillage and uneven ground.
How long does concrete take to cure?
Concrete sets in a few hours, reaches roughly two-thirds of its strength after 7 days, and its full design strength at 28 days. Keep it moist during the first week in hot or windy weather.
What is pump mix concrete?
Pump mix is designed with enhanced workability so it flows through boom and stationary pumps without segregating. See our pump mixes for specifications.
Which areas do you deliver to?
We deliver from our Pretoria East plant across Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand, Kempton Park and the East Rand — Benoni, Boksburg and surrounding areas.
What is your minimum order?
We accommodate small loads as well as large continuous pours. Contact our sales team to discuss your volume and scheduling.
How is ready-mix concrete priced?
Price is per cubic metre and depends on strength grade, additives and distance from the plant. Request a quote via our contact form for an exact figure.
How much notice do you need for a delivery?
Book as early as possible. Same-day and next-day deliveries are often possible, subject to plant scheduling.
What happens if it rains on pour day?
Light rain is manageable with proper protection; heavy rain weakens the surface. We will reschedule your load at no penalty if conditions make a good pour impossible.
What screed thickness do I need for underfloor heating?
Most underfloor heating systems are covered by a 40–75 mm screed depending on the pipe and finish. See our screed mixes or ask for guidance.
What decorative concrete finishes are available?
We supply polished, exposed aggregate, coloured, overlay and phosphorescent finishes — see decorative concrete.
Can you pump concrete to difficult access areas?
Yes. Boom pumps of 24–48 m reach over houses and excavations, and stationary pumps push concrete up to 300 m of pipeline, around corners and up high-rise buildings.
What is no-fines concrete used for?
No-fines (pervious) concrete lets water drain through it — ideal for parking areas, driveways and stormwater management. See no-fines concrete.
Do you deliver on Saturdays?
Yes, our plant operates Saturdays 07:00–13:00. Weekday hours are 07:00–17:00.
